In his Higher Graphic Communication project Jamie had to choose a suitable product
for his Presentation. He then had to present the product using a range of graphic communication processes, both manual and computer aided.

Jamie chose a Micro Hydro Generator for his product.  He then then used the CAD/CAG  program Autodesk Inventor to make each individual piece and then to bring them together into an assembly.

A Micro hydro Generator is used for hydroelectric power installations.  Sited in a river or stream these installations can  typically produce up to 100 kW of power. They can also provide power to an isolated home or small community. There are many of these installations around the world, particularly in developing nations as they can provide an economical source of energy without purchase of fuel.

Micro hydro systems complement solar energy systems because in many areas, water flow, and thus available hydro power, is highest in the winter when solar energy is at a minimum.

Above is Jamie’s promotional graphic of the hydro turbine.  He has made the flow box transparent
to show the turbine set up inside.  This is how it would be erected in a river or stream.
