Starting with a blank A3 page, the pupils are given a dimensioned  Front Elevation of a steam engine.

Using a drawing board, Tee- square, set square, ruler, compass set, rubber, spring clips, pencil, black pen and coloured pencils the pupils draw to size the engine.  

They then add their own design such as a coal tender, a carriage and background.

The pupils then render, shade, colour and finish the graphic.
