










A grid drawing uses a scale to enlarge or reduce the size of a drawing. First a grid is drawn over the original graphic. Then an enlarging grid (eg scale 3:1) or reduction grid ( eg scale 1:3) can be drawn out on a fresh piece of paper. The original is then copied ou square by square by square.
This should give an exact replica of the original only scaled up or scaled down.
Recently two dinosaurs decided to take a shortcut through the school grounds. They were to regret this decision. These were sauroposeidons (earthshakers), the tallest and largest of dinosaurs. Although the school grounds are not on an official dinosaur track, the two sauroposeidons were hungry for lunch and thought they would take a shortcut to the Kabin.
Minding their own business they made their way along thinking about pie rolls, sherbet
blocks and Irn-
Ironically some S1 pupils were in the middle of a grid drawing project on dinosaurs and some thought that this would be a good opportunity to get closer to their subject. The big beasties did not have a chance!
