After an informal yet very informative chat with the lunching steeple-jacks and skyscraper builders, Shannon checks her calculations for the design and construction of her team’s Tall Tower task.  This shows the diligence and attention to detail that an Ardrossan Academy pupil normally applies to the investigation of a task.

Yes, once again Ardrossan Academy has broken a World Record.  The under 14 World Record for the tallest tower made from a single sheet of A3 drawing paper has been shattered by Dylan, Greg and Scot.

The record stood at a massive 1680 mm.  It has now been taken to the stupendous new height of 1820 mm.

The team of Dylan, Scott and Greg, shown below, are now new World Champions.

Given only one sheet of A3 drawing paper (420 x 300) and one 300 mm length of cellotape they had to plan and construct the tallest possible tower.

Dylan, Scott and Greg’s towering tower almost touched the ceiling.
