Write out the following passage, inserting the correct answer in the appropriate position.

 

Primary Colours: Red, Yellow, [Black-Blue]. These 3 colours are the base colours for every other colour on the colour wheel. This is why they're called "primary." When one mixes two primaries one produces a [first-secondary] colour.

Secondary Colours: Orange, Green, [Magenta-Purple]. These 3 colours are what you get when you mix the [Primary-Main] colours together.

Tertiary Colours: These are those "in-between" colours like Yellow-Green and Red-Violet. They're made by mixing one [primary-additional] colour and one [first-secondary] colour together

Contrasting Colours: Red and Green, Blue and Orange, Purple and Yellow are termed [contrasting-different] colours. These are the colours directly [across-next] to/from each other on the colour wheel. They [often-rarely] look good when used together. They're called contrasting colours  because, when used together, they become extremely [vibrant-dull].

Red and Orange, Blue and Green, etc are termed colours in [tune-harmony]. These are colours right/directly [opposite-next] to each other on the colour wheel. They usually match extremely [poorly-well], but they also create almost no contrast. They are useful when you want viewers to feel [comfortable-upset].

Colours such as red, yellow, and orange are termed [warm-cool] colours:  . These colours evoke [warmth-cold] because they remind us of things like the sun or fire.
The term Hue[
is a general description of a basic colour- is a description of a very cold colour]

 

The term Tone is when a basic colour has a certain amount of [black added to it-white added to it]

The term Tint is when a basic colour has a certain amount of [black added to it-white added to it]

Write out the following passage, inserting the correct answer in the appropriate position.
Colours like blue, green, and purple are termed [
cool-hot] colours. These colours evoke a [cool-hot] feeling because they remind us of things like [fire-water] or grass.

Grey, Brown are termed [
Neutral-Special] Colours. These aren't on most colour wheels, but they're considered [neutral-special] because they don't contrast with much of anything. They're dull and uneventful.

If one wants to depict something that is [
soft-hard] the colours to use are lilac, [pink-purple] and lemon.


If one wants to depict something that is [
soft-hard] the colours to use are dark blue or deep red.

Reds, Oranges and Yellows are said to be [Receding-Advancing]  If one wanted a room to appear [larger-smaller] one would paint it with one of these colours.

Violet, Blue and Green are said to be [Receding-Advancing]  If one wanted a room to appear [larger-smaller] one would paint it with one of these colours.
